Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained for the time needed to respond. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may collect routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers help combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing faults and maintaining reliable page delivery
- Passing a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measuring which resources are useful and which need revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Grant County Criminal History does not build, store, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Grant County Sheriff, local courts, Nebraska State Patrol repository, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party criminal profiles or consumer reports, and this service is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted to them. Review the provider's policy before sending a query because this policy does not control that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the sheriff, courts, Nebraska agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's privacy terms apply. Those terms should be read before personal details are submitted.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their tracking is not operated by us.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used for information under our control. No internet system can be guaranteed free from every failure or intrusion, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified report of a minor's submitted data will be addressed by deleting that information.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights. Nebraska public records are governed by the Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-712, while public criminal-history dissemination is limited by Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523. For data held directly by this private site, a user may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or law change. A replacement takes effect when posted here with its new effective date.
